How to Turn Off the Change Oil Light in a Pontiac Grand Prix

The last two Pontiac Grand Prix body styles (1997 to 2003 and 2004 to 2008) before its demise had GM's Oil Life Monitor. Although the procedure for resetting the system (which turns off the "Change Oil" light) is different between the two models, the systems function similarly. A reminder light comes on when it's time for an oil change (about every 3,000 miles); after you change the oil, the system requires resetting to shut off the light.
