Fabric yo-yos make great crafts

Quilters are familiar with fabric yoyos sewn together to make a coverlet or bedspread, and fabric yoyos have been popular for making flowers for several years. Yo-yos also make great accents on pillows, wall hangings, and clothing decorations.

If you have some leftover yoyos, here are some ideas to use fabric yoyos for crafts projects.

      Make flowers with yoyos, and they work for large flowers made with several yoyos combined in a circle, or as single flowers. Buttons in the center sewn with dark thread add dimension and center designs for the flowers.

      Yoyos make great balloons if turned backward so the smooth part of the fabric is on the outside. Make a picture with balloons, and add embroidered strings.

      Greeting cards with handwork can use fabric yoyos for crafts projects, and yoyos already made are perfect for use on greeting cards. They can be faces or flowers, or just decorative.

      Vests and sweaters are easily decorated with leftover fabric yoyos, either as a border around the bottom, or a full design on back or sides.

      Fabric yoyos also work for jar lid covers. Use a fabric yoyo the size of the jar lid decorate whichever side you prefer, and hot glue it on top of the lid.
