How to Create Security Guard Uniforms
If you want to dress like a security guard, for a party or other event, you can make a costume using some basic pieces of clothing and some simple sewing skills. You start with an affordable, easy-to-find shirt and slacks. Add your own shoes, belt and tie. Then you can buy a badge at a costume supply shop, or make your own badge. Put it all together, and you make a pretty convincing security guard.

1
Buy black pants. They should not be skin-tight, but they should not be baggy, either. If you already have pants like this, you can use them.
-
2
Buy a sky-blue, long-sleeved shirt. You also can use a white shirt. Even if you have a blue or white shirt, you might want to buy an inexpensive one for the costume, because you have to sew things onto it.

3
Sew black breast-pockets onto the cotton shirt.
-
4
Create a company patch, using an imaginary company, to sew on the right sleeve of the shirt. You can make the patch from felt and fabric paint, for example.
-
5
Wear a simple black tie, black shoes and a black belt.
-
6
Pin your fake badge above your left shirt pocket, and head out for the party.

Tips & Warnings
Impersonating a law enforcement officer, including a security guard, usually is against the law. Make it very clear that this is just a costume, and it is all in fun.
