How to Adjust the Headlights on a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant

Adjust the headlights on your 2002 Mitsubishi Galant by using two adjustment screws on the top and side of the Galant's headlight housing. The screw on the top adjusts the vertical movement of the headlight. The screw on the inside edge of the headlight housing adjusts the lateral movement of the housing. Adjusting the headlights too high can blind oncoming traffic, so you'll need to know how to properly adjust the headlights on your '02 Galant.

Things You'll Need

• Phillips head screwdriver

Instructions

1. Park your Galant 25 feet away from a closed garage door.

2. Turn on the headlights and shine them onto the door.

3. Open the hood and adjust the headlight beams using the adjustment screws on the top and inside edge of the headlight housing. Turn the adjustment screws until the two headlight beams overlap by 50 percent and the center of the beam pattern sits at the bottom of the garage door where the door meets the ground. From 25 feet away the headlights will be properly adjusted.
