How to Change a Windows XP Clock Back From Army Time
The army uses the 24-hour clock system to tell time. It is a system that goes from midnight to midnight and displays each hour numbered from 0 to 24. For example, 3 p.m. is the 15th hour of the day so the time would be 15:00. In windows XP operating systems, you can disable the 24-hour clock system if you are interested in the simpler and more conventional way of telling time.

1
Click the Windows "Start" button and click the "Control Panel." Click "Date, Time, Language and Regional Options" and click "change format of numbers, dates and times."

2
Click the "Customize" button and click the "Time" tab. You should see the 24-hour clock format that you are currently using displayed as "HH:mm:ss." Replace the two capital Hs with small hs, so that it looks like "hh:mm:ss." Add two ts at the end so that the final result looks like this: hh:mm:ss:tt.
