The 2003 and 2007 versions of Word offer a language pack that can allow you to translate or change the language of the text in a document. There is also a Chinese dictionary available to help you locate specific words.

      Open the Microsoft Word application on your computer. Click on the "Tools" option from the top toolbar menu if you're using the 2003 version. Click on the "Options" option.

      Click on the "Microsoft Office" button and then click on the "Word Options" button if you're using Word 2007.

      Click on the "Spelling & Grammar" tab and then click on the "Custom Dictionaries" option for the 2003 version. Click on the "Proofing" option and then click on the "Custom Dictionary" option for the 2007 version.

      Locate this "Chinese dictionary" option from the list and then click on the "Change Default" button. Click on the "OK" button.

      Click on the "OK" button again to close out of the dialog box. You must purchase a language pack from Microsoft if you couldn't find a Chinese dictionary option.
