How to Disable Nero 9 Registration thumbnail
You can get rid of the annoying popup reminder for Nero 9 registration.

Nero 9 is an integrated digital media and home entertainment software suite. The software is designed to allow for easy ripping, burning, backup and copying of various media. It is also used to copy files to CDs, DVDs, and even Blu-ray Discs, and convert files from one format to another. While Nero 9 is by most accounts a very useful program, many users have experienced problems with repeated registration reminders that pop up as the Nero Patent Activation wizard. Fortunately, there is a solution to the problem.

Instructions

    • 1

Go to the Windows desktop, and double click on My Computer.

    • 2

Navigate to the following folder: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Nero\AdvrCntr4 , where C:\ is your computer's hard drive.

    • 3

      Locate the following files:
      NeroPatentActivation.exe
      NOSProductRegistration.dll
      NOSUsageStatistiscs.dll

    • 4

Select the first file and press F2 on your keyboard. Change the file name to anything you like, and also add ".old" to the file extensions (without the quotation marks).

    • 5

Repeat the renaming process and add ".old" to the other two files listed in Step 3 to complete the job. You will no longer be bothered by Nero 9 registration prompts.
