How to Download BlackBerry Desktop Manager

To download the BlackBerry Desktop Manager there are a few steps to follow. Once downloaded, this feature allows users to easily sync their music, organizer, and media from their Mac or PC to their BlackBerry device.

Instructions

      Turn your BlackBerry on and go to the www.blackberry.com.

      Select your country from the home page and click "Go".

      Select "Support and Services" from along the top menu bar.

      Click on the "BlackBerry Device and Desktop Software" link which is currently in the middle of the page.

      Click on the "Download BlackBerry Desktop Software" link.

      Select the most recent version of the BlackBerry product from the drop down list that you would like to download and click "Next".

      Scroll down and select the software version you want. There will be one with Media Manager and one without. The Media Manger will be needed if you are going to be putting media onto your BlackBerry (i.e. ringtones, pictures, videos, etc.). Then click "Download".

      Select "No" - unless you want to receive information about RIM and other BlackBerry products from RIM. Click "Download" at the bottom of the page.

      Save the software to your computer.

      After you download the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, close your browser.

      Open up the file you just downloaded, click "Run", and wait for the file to be extracted.

      Choose your language from the drop down, and then click "OK".

      You will now be taken to the Install Shield Wizard for BlackBerry Desktop Software. Click "Next", choose your language again, and click "Next".

      Accept the BlackBerry Software License Agreement and click on Next".

      Choose who you want to use the BlackBerry Desktop Manager application and click "Next".

      Leave the setup type as "Typical" and click "Next".

      Leave the "BlackBerry Media Sync" box checked and click "Next".

      Choose either to integrate the desktop software with a personal or work email and click "Next".

      Uncheck the box: "Start BlackBerry Desktop Manager automatically each time the computer starts" and then click "Install".

      Uncheck the box that says: "Yes I want to start the BlackBerry Desktop Software" and click "Finish".

      You can now go to your desktop and the BlackBerry Desktop Manager icon will be there ready for you to use.
