How to Create Mail Links in PDF
The Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF) is a versatile file type. Among its many capabilities is the ability to embed email links within a document. Users can then click these email links to send email to the specified address.

Create a source document containing a properly formatted email address. Acrobat will convert many different files types to PDF, but Microsoft Office formats frequent provide the best results.

Open Acrobat Professional. Select "Create PDF" from the File menu. Choose the "From File..." option. Acrobat will open a file selection dialog.

Choose the file to convert to PDF. Click "Open" after selecting the file. Acrobat will begin the file conversion process.

Verify all email links were properly converted. Convert any missed links from the Advanced menu. Choose "Document Processing" then "Create Links from URLs...". Click "Okay" on the Create Web Links dialog. Acrobat will attempt to convert any missing links.

Tips & Warnings
Create a copy of the original document before converting to PDF. The PDF conversion can alter the layout of the original document.
