"Diablo II" is an action role-playing game developed by Blizzard Entertainment for PC. As "Diablo 2" was originally designed to run on older versions of Microsoft Windows, you may run into compatibility issues when trying to run the game on Windows 7. You can work around the problem by taking advantage of the Windows 7 "Compatibility Mode," which was designed to allow older programs to run on the newer Windows platform.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are running Windows 7 Starter, this fix isn't likely to work due to the limited features of that particular version of Windows. You are likely running a netbook if you are running Windows 7 Starter. The upgrade to Home Premium is worth it and will make your netbook run a LOT faster. This entire fix was discovered and executed on a netbook, which Diablo II is now running on smoothly.

  • This was not tested in Windows 7 Starter and is not expected to work in it. Feel free to try and update me if it does work.
