Cast Iron Wheels on a Train

Cleaning cast iron wheels is not unlike cleaning cast iron cooking pans; however, instead of seasoning the cast iron wheel as you would a pan, just allow it to dry over night. Cast iron wheels are durable and strong; resistant to shock and able to withstand heavy weight. Cast iron wheels do well when traveling over concrete or wood. At one time it was common to find cast iron wheels on most trains and carriages.
