You can replace headlight bulbs in your Honda Odyssey quickly without any tools required.

The headlights in your 2000 Honda Odyssey are crucial to visibility during low-light driving. If a headlight bulb fails, you should replace it right away for your own safety. The 2000 Honda Odyssey uses a dual-bulb headlight assembly, with the high-beam bulb on the outer side and the low-beam bulb on the inside of the headlight assembly. Buy replacement bulbs for your Odyssey at an auto parts store or Honda dealer.

Instructions

    • 1

Raise the hood of your Honda Odyssey and locate the rear of the headlight assembly. Pull the power-steering fluid reservoir straight up out of the mounting area and set it aside. Do this only if you are replacing the high-beam bulb on the passenger side of the Odyssey.

    • 2

Remove the wiring connection from the bulb you are replacing. Press the retaining tab down and pull the connection straight down to remove it from the socket.

    • 3

Turn the bulb one-quarter turn counterclockwise to free it from the Odyssey's headlight assembly. Pull the bulb straight out. Insert the replacement bulb into the assembly and turn it one-quarter turn clockwise to lock it into place.

    • 4

Reconnect the wiring harness to the new bulb by pressing the connector straight into place until the retaining clip locks.

    • 5

Repeat the process on the opposite side if needed. Replace the power-steering fluid reservoir by pushing it straight down into position, if you removed it.

    • 6

Test the operation of your headlights to be sure they are working as intended.

Tips & Warnings

  • Avoid touching the glass portion of the halogen bulbs. The oils in your fingers can cause the bulb to fail.
