How to Use Free Software to Rip Your DVDs
If you want to back up your DVD collection in order to safe guard against any possible damage to your disks there are many different free software titles that allow you to rip the contents of your DVDs onto the hard drive of a computer. This gives you the ability to place the ripped content onto a different DVD or simply to save it on the system in case you do need to record a new DVD if the current disk becomes damaged.

Obtain a free DVD ripping software. There are many you can download from the Internet, including MacTheRipper at "Versiontracker.com," A-one DVD Ripper at "popsnail.com" and Magic DVD Ripper at "MagicDVDripper." Do note that A-One and Magic DVD are free full trials (once the trial is done you need to purchase the product) while MacTheRipper is free.
