How Can You Redownload the New Xbox Experience?

The New Xbox Experience is an extensive update for Xbox 360 that adds a new interface, introduces avatars and streamlines the entire Xbox experience. If you are still using the old Xbox interface or you swapped hard drives and need to update to the new interface, you can accomplish this by connecting to Xbox Live or by burning a CD update disc.

Things You'll Need

• Xbox Live account or
• Computer with DVD burner and
• Blank CD

Instructions

Connect to Xbox Live

1. Plug in your Xbox to an Internet port using an Ethernet cable.

2. Turn on your Xbox and set up your account to connect to Xbox Live. You can either select the Gold subscription, which must be paid for, or the Silver subscription, which is free. Either one will allow you to perform the update.

3. Log in to your Xbox Live account. You will be prompted to install the new update, which will upgrade your Xbox to the New Xbox Experience. If you do not have access to the Internet with your Xbox 360, you will need to create an update disc.

Burn a CD

1. Navigate to the Xbox update page at Xbox.com.

2. Download the update file onto your computer.

3. Insert a blank CD into your DVD burner, and burn the update file onto the CD.

4. Insert the update CD into your Xbox, and restart it. You will be prompted to install the update. Accept, and wait for the New Xbox Experience to be installed.
