How to Change the Car Wiper Blades on a 1985 Toyota MR2

The wiper blades on your 1985 Toyota MR2 need to be checked every six months for wear and tear. When the wiper blades start to deteriorate, it's time to replace them. Any chipping, peeling, or cracking mean that the blade needs to be replaced now before the metal on the blade assembly begins to scratch the windshield. Replacement blades for the MR2 in 1985 were 18-inch blades and are available from most auto parts stores.

Instructions

1. Pull the wiper arm assembly away from the windshield of your 1985 Toyota MR2. The hinge on the wiper arm will lock when the wiper arm is extended to a near vertical position.

2. Swing the wiper blade assembly up from the bottom until it is perpendicular to the wiper arm.

3. Press down on the wiper blade release tab and pull the wiper blade off from the wiper arm.

4. Push the wiper blade onto the wiper arm until it locks.

5. Lower the blade and arm assembly to the windshield.
