How to Keep the Volume Control the Same on MP3s
The volume can fluctuate when listening to MP3 tracks from different artists and recordings. This can cause constant adjustment to the volume on the computer or device. However, it is possible to set the volume control for all MP3 tracks at the same time so it doesn't fluctuate between songs with a simple-to-use application.
Instructions

-
1
Launch your Internet browser and go to the MP3Gain.net download website (see "Resources"). This program allows you to set a level for all of your music in your MP3 collection.
-
2
Click the most recently available download. This downloads the program directly to your computer.
-
-
3
Double-click the download file to launch the installation wizard. Follow the set of prompts to finish the installation.
-
4
Launch the program, then select "Options." In the options menu choose "Add Subfolders," "Preserve file date/time" and "Don't clip when doing track gain options."
-
5
Click "Add folder." Select the music folder that contains your MP3 music. This can be the iTunes music folder or any other music folder on your computer.
-
6
Select the folder and choose "Album Gain." The album gain adjusts the volume of your music to synchronize. Click "OK" to save the changes. The next time you listen to music on iTunes or any other media player the volume should be consistent. If you are going through each track individually, select "Track Gain" (instead of Album Gain). This allows you to adjust each song separately.

Tips & Warnings
When adjusting the audio, if any of the tracks or albums have a "Y" under it, select "Modify Gain" and choose "Apply Max-No-Clip Gain for Album."
When using your MP3 files in iTunes, turn off Sound Check so the two programs don't counteract each other. To do this, click "iTunes," "Preferences," then select the "Playback" tab and uncheck "Sound Check."
