Wash your deck with a cleanser formulated for use on decks. Use a product that contains bleach and a detergent. Trex recommends using a cleanser like Olympic Deck Wash or Expert Chemical Composite Deck Cleaner & Enhancer. Follow the directions on the product to apply it to a dry deck. You may need to wash the deck several times to thoroughly get rid of the mold.

Use an alternative cleanser if you prefer to avoid bleach. Trex recommends using a product like UltraMean. However, if you use a non-bleach alternative, you'll also need to scrub the deck with a brush. Another eco-friendly product that Trex recommends is Corte-Clean Composite Deck Cleaner.

Apply another deck treatment product to your Trex deck to help delay the recurrence of mold. Home Depot recommends using a product like PSC Composite Deck AfterKlean or Anti-Growth. Follow the directions on the product.

Prevent your mold from coming back. Clean dirt, pollen and other debris from your Trex deck. Having a dirty deck can encourage the growth of mold.

I hate my trex decking! Thought it would be pretty much maitenence free. What a joke. It gets all spots on it and it is not from debris!

At 2 yrs we had mold spots, were also not told this could happen, and at 4 yrs spots all over-rails and floor. We have cleaned as told, talked with trex, and they do not care-have been told to stain or paint it, after trying once more to get spots off, or will come thru the stain. A good old wood deck would have been much less money, and easier maintanence. I would NEVER recomend trex-

when we decide on trex, no mention was ever made about mold problems. trying to get rid of the mold is more difficult than ataining periodically.

really disappointed in Trex.... we have tried numerous products recommended to clean the mold spots, but our deck still looks terrible!
