      Hit the "A" key or click on the arrow-shaped icon in the "Tool Palette" to ensure that FCP recognizes your cursor as the "Selection Tool."

      Click between two adjacent audio clips to select the edit point.

      Click on "Effects" in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Move down to "Audio Transitions" and click "Audio Crossfade (0db)." This will simultaneously fade out the audio of the outgoing track, while fading up the audio of the incoming track.
