      Obtain a motorcycle jacket sizing chart from the company or store from which you wish to buy your jacket.

      Use a measuring tape to determine the size of your chest or bust. Wrap the tape around your body at the chest, pulling the ends together in a snug fit that isn't too tight or loose. Look at the measurement in inches, and record it on a piece of paper.

      Measure and record your waist measurements in the same fashion. Make sure not to confuse your waist with your hips; you should me measuring as high up, if not a little higher than your belly button for your waist measurement.

      Place the tape at the top of your shoulder and pull it to your wrist to determine your sleeve measurement. Record it with the other measurements.

      Use your recorded measurements to compare with the measurements on the sizing chart to determine your size. Male sizes are usually determined by the chest measurement exactly. For example if your chest size is 38 inches, then you'd be a size 38. For women, the sizing is different: Extra Small for a bust size of 31 inches, Small for a bust size of 33 to 34 inches, Medium for a bust size of 35 to 36 inches, Large for a bust size of 37 to 39 inches, and Extra Large for a bust size of 40 to 42 inches.
