1
Crochet three flat circles in white yarn; add a round of crochet stitches every time in order to make the circles in graduated sizes. For the smallest, crochet five single crochet stitches in a circle. Then chain one and crochet two stitches in each stitch, for a total of 10 stitches.
For the second circle, repeat these steps, and add a third round where you alternate one single crochet stitch and two single crochet stitches in every stitch around the circle, for a total of 15 stitches.
For the third circle, repeat the steps for the second. Then add a fourth round where you make one stitch in each of the first two stitches followed by two stitches in the third, for a total of 20 stitches.

2
Lay out the three circles so that they go from smallest to largest, top to bottom. Overlap the edges slightly and sew the three circles together with a few stitches using the white yarn and a large-eye, blunt needle, one circle on top of the next. This will form the basic shape of your snowman's body.
