How Do I Get My Macbook to Stop Saying Everything That I Am Doing?

All modern Mac computers come with a handy pre-installed set of System Preferences called Universal Access. Universal Access provides support for those using Apple computers with disabilities. From screen magnification to VoiceOver technology, it makes it easier for people with vision problems and other disabilities to use a Mac. However, if you do not have any disabilities, you do not need to use the Universal Access program. You can make your Mac stop talking by simply turning it off.

Instructions

    • 1

Open "System Preferences" in the Apple menu.

    • 2

      Click on "Universal Access."

    • 3

Under the "Seeing" tab click "Off" under "VoiceOver." Your Mac will stop saying everything you do.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you do not need to use Universal Access, be sure to turn off every option under each tab to make your Mac run faster.
