How Do I Tell Which Blackberry Curve I Have?

You may need to know which version of the BlackBerry Curve you have if you are downloading ringtones or applications. Some downloads may not be compatible with certain versions. RIM, the manufacturer of BlackBerry devices, has made many versions of the Curve, and some look very similar. The company gives each of its cell phones a four-digit number following the model name: for example, BlackBerry Curve 8830. If you have forgotten the model number for your BlackBerry, there is a way to find it on your phone.

Instructions

1. Press any key on the phone to take it out of standby mode.

2. Enter the screen-lock password if you created one.

3. Press the BlackBerry button on the phone’s keyboard. It’s the button just left of the trackball.

4. Use the trackball to scroll to and select the “Options” icon.

5. Press the trackball to select the “About” option.

6. Look at the top of the “About” screen. You will see the model number for your BlackBerry Curve displayed.
