How to Calculate Keystrokes Per Hour
If you know your average typing speed in words per minute, you can use this information to easily calculate your keystrokes per hour. In most typing tests, a “word” is defined as five keystrokes. This piece of information allows us convert words per minute to keystrokes per hour with some simple math.

Determine your typing speed in words per minute. There are many free online tests that will accurately assess your typing speed.

Multiply your typing speed in words per minute by five to calculate your number of keystrokes per minute. Let’s say you type 50 words per minute. Multiply 50 times 5 to determine that you type 250 keystrokes per minute.

Multiply your keystrokes per minute by 60 (for the 60 minutes in an hour) to determine your keystrokes per hour. In our example from Step 2, you would multiply 250 by 60. Your total number of keystrokes per hour in this example would be 15,000.

Tips & Warnings
Now that you understand the logic behind determining your keystrokes per hour, you can take a shortcut: simply multiply your words per minute by 300 to determine your keystrokes per hour.

i don't think this is a correct way or the name keystrokes per hour is not the right one. you are calculating number of keystrokes in words per hour not all keystrokes per se because keystrokes also include spaces.
