It is suggested that woman take one to four ounces of Castor oil mixed in six ounces of orange juice to start labor. Just keep in mind that Castor oil is a natural laxative and will cause you to relieve your bowels often.

Black and Blue Cohosh: These are two herbs that are often used to induce labor naturally. They are shown to be particularly effective if you have weak or irregular contractions. Blue Cohosh is known for making contractions strong, while Black Cohosh makes the contractions more regular. Together these herbs make your contractions more effective. Before starting these herbs make sure to contact your doctor to discuss if this method is right for you.

Nipple stimulation: Some woman use nipple stimulation to induce labor themselves. This stimulation brings out oxytocion, which is a natural form of pitocin. This will eventually evolve into labor.

Most doctors tell there expecting patients not to use nipple stimulation as a way to induce labor yourself, because it is well know to lead to a excessively long, and strong labor.
