How to Install Actions in Photoshop Elements 8
Photoshop Elements 8 is graphic design software that provides the tools to create and edit your own photos and digital images using your computer. Automated actions is a feature you can use to make a series of edits to a picture instantly. You can use actions to apply special effects or filters that create a consistent style throughout the images. You can download an install an ".atn" file and place it in the proper Photoshop folder to install a new action in the software.

Close the Photoshop Elements 8 software.

Download the action you would like to install. This usually comes packed as a .zip file, which will require you to right-click and unzip the folder before installation.

Open the unzipped folder. There may be one or more .atn and .png files inside.

Press and hold the "Ctrl" button on the keyboard and press the "A" key to highlight all the files inside the folder.

Press and hold the "Ctrl" button, then press the "C" button to copy the files.

Navigate to the folder "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\8.0\Locale\en_US\Workflow Panels\actions."

Right-click inside of the folder, then select "Paste" from the menu. A copy of the action files will appear in the folder. This will automatically install the actions, allowing you to use them the next time you launch Photoshop Elements 8.
