How to Tell if a Wohler Watch is Fake

Wohler watches, made from sturdy materials such as stainless steel and hardened crystals, can be worn while swimming. Knockoffs of these watches are not as well made but can fool even the savvy buyer into buying an inferior product for the price of the genuine item. Identify certain features to learn to distinguish a genuine Wohler from a fake. Does this Spark an idea?

Look for the words "Swiss made" printed on the watch. Watches labeled with "Swiss made" meet the minimum standards required for timepieces made in Switzerland, a country with a superior watch-making reputation. According to Wohler, "at least 50 percent of the components of movement should be manufactured in Switzerland" to earn the "Swiss made" label. If the watch says it is made in another country, it is not a genuine Wohler watch.

Take a swim while wearing your watch. Any Wohler watch should be able to withstand this kind of contact with water. If your watch malfunctions under these conditions, it is probably not a Wohler.

Register your watch for a warranty through the Wohler website. Wohler offers a one-year warranty against any manufacturing defects. If the company does not grant you the warranty, it is not a genuine Wohler watch.
