How to Modify Electric RC Cars
There are many different ways to modify an electric radio controlled car; however, one of the most important modifications would be to modify the motor. Stock electric motors allow the car to be peppy, but upgrading the motor will turn the car into a real racer.
Things You'll Need
- Phillips-head screwdriver
- Loctite super glue
- R/C battery (charged)
- Upgraded motor

Upgrading the Electric Motor

Take off the body of the vehicle.

Unplug the negative and positive wires attaching the motor to the transmitter.

Unscrew the harness holding in the original electric motor using the Phillips-head screwdriver.

Remove the stock motor from the vehicle.

Insert the new upgraded motor in the same place the previous motor was fitted.

Place a dab of Loctite super glue on each screw.

Screw in the motor to the harness.

Re-attach the negative and positive wires from the motor to the transmitter.

Plug the charged battery into the vehicle.

Test the vehicle to ensure that the new motor runs correctly.

Tips & Warnings
Loctite super glue does not always have to be used, but it will prevent the screws from falling out of place while the vehicle is operated.
Make sure the battery is unplugged when working on the vehicle.
