How to Pass Shingles
Shingles is not contagious as such. It is caused by the chicken pox virus already in your body that has been dormant since you first had chicken pox. While you cannot pass shingles on to anyone, you can pass the chicken pox to someone who has never had it.

The blisters of the person with shingles must be broken.

The broken blister must come into contact with the skin of the uninfected person.

The fluid in the blister must touch the uninfected person's skin.

Tips & Warnings
It can be highly dangerous to spread chicken pox, and those with an outbreak of shingles are urged to refrain from contact with the elderly, pregnant women, newborns, people with poor immune systems and anyone else who might be susceptible to infection.
