How to Shine Patent Leather Reebok Shoes

Patent leather shoes are relatively easy to care for. If you've spent a lot of money on Reebok patent leather shoes, you want to preserve them and keep them looking nice. If your patent leather Reeboks get dirty on the field or scuffed on the basketball court or track, shining them so they look as glossy as they did when they were new is easy. Shining will also help keep your patent leather Reebok shoes soft and preserve them for longtime wear. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

    • 1

Clean your Reebok patent leather shoes with mild soap and water to be sure they are free of debris before shining. Wipe away soapy residue with a damp cloth.

    • 2

Pour a few drops of mineral oil onto a clean, lint-free cloth.

    • 3

Buff any scuffs on the surface of your patent leather Reeboks with mineral oil first. The mineral oil will help repair the scuff marks so your shoes look unblemished.

    • 4

Add a few more drops of mineral oil to the cloth and rub the cloth over the entire shoe. Use circular buffing motions to make the shoe shine.

    • 5

Allow the oil to settle into the leather overnight before wearing, as wearing them right away could encourage dust to collect on the surface.

Tips & Warnings

  • There are several brands of patent leather shoe polish you can find in most shoe stores. Many of these polishes work just as well as mineral oil and are designed to dry after polishing to discourage dust from collecting on the surface of your shoes. If you regularly use your Reeboks and clean them regularly, mineral oil will do the trick.
