How to Remove a Snap Ring From a Honda Motorcycle Master Cylinder

The snap ring on your Honda motorcycle master cylinder is there to help keep the master cylinder reservoir tank in place and secured to the master cylinder. When you rebuild the master cylinder, the snap ring must be removed. Replacement parts and a rebuild kit are available from Honda for this type of project. However, you'll need a special set of pliers, called snap ring pliers, designed for removing snap rings. These pliers can be purchased from most auto parts stores.

Instructions

1. Grab the tabs on the snap ring on the base of the master cylinder.

2. Pinch the tabs together using the snap ring pliers.

3. Pull the snap ring off the master cylinder.
