How to View the Download History in Firefox

With Mozilla Firefox 4.0 or higher, viewing your recent download history is as easy as accessing the browser's top navigational toolbar. By viewing your old downloads, you can easily discover where you placed the downloaded files, where the file originated and you can even reclaim partial downloads that were interrupted. This removes the need to sift through dozens of folders looking for an old downloaded file. It also saves you from having to search various websites for the link from which your file originated.

Instructions

    • 1

Choose "Tools" from Firefox's top navigational toolbar.

    • 2

Choose "Downloads" from the pull down menu that appears.

    • 3

Scroll through the list of files that appears. If you know what file you're looking for, you can also use the search field at the bottom of the download window to search for the file by name.

    • 4

Right-click any file name to access a pull down menu. From the menu, you can choose to copy the download link, open the folder that contains the file or reopen the download page by clicking "Open Download Page."

Tips & Warnings

  • If you wish to clear your download history from Firefox's "Downloads" window, click the "Clear List" button at the bottom left-hand corner of the "Downloads" window. This will remove the download links and history from your Firefox browser.
