How to Sell Wood Pallets

Valuable new wood is used to construct pallets used in manufacturing, shipping and other industries. If you've got old wooden pallets, you can sell them to a pallet broker or to an individual who wants to use the pallet's wood. The United States Department of Agriculture lists some of the uses for recycled pallet wood, including mulch, particle board, strip flooring and compost. Before you trash your pallets, even those in poor shape, contact potential buyers.

Instructions

1. Sort your pallets by quality.

2. Call woodworking and furniture schools in your area to let them know you have pallet wood for sale. Use the telephone directory or Woodworkers Directory to find these places.

3. Find pallet brokers on GotPallets.com or the North American Pallet Recycling Network. Call or email brokers to see if they are interested in purchasing your pallets.

4. Place a classified ad in your local newspaper or on Craigslist stating that you have pallets for sale. Woodweb.com shows some wood projects made from pallet wood.

5. Locate green contractors using Green Contractor Guide. Call contractors in your area to see if they are interested in pallet wood for any of their clients.
