How to Create an Eye-catching Red and Gold Eye Look

Red may not typically come to mind when you think of a good lower lash line color but a small amount creates a big effect. The red draws attention to the eye and highlights the definition of the black eyeliner. Keeping the eyelid a neutral gold color helps make it simple to pull off this offbeat look. Any skin color can wear this gold and red eye look, as well as any eye and hair color. Wearing the hair straight or curly works well with this look.

Things You'll Need

• Eye primer
• Nude eye shadow
• Shadow brush
• Gold eye shadow
• Blending brush
• Liner brush
• Red eye shadow
• Black eyeliner
• Black mascara

Instructions

1. Pat an eye primer onto the eyelids with your fingers. Eye primer comes in a cream or gel form that prevents the creasing and fading of eye makeup.

2. Apply a nude eye shadow to the entire eyelid with a shadow brush.

3. Apply gold eye shadow over the nude eyeshadow with a blending brush. Blend the gold into the eye by starting on the outer corner of the eyelid and sweeping the gold inward toward the inner corner of the eye with the blending brush.

4. Use a liner brush to apply red eye shadow to the area just under the lower lash line. Gently sweep the liner brush back and forth until the color fades a little.

5. Apply black eyeliner to the upper and lower lash line.

6. Apply the black mascara to the upper and lower eyelashes. Wiggle the wand as you comb through the eyelashes to prevent them from clumping.
