How to Sleep on Magnetic Pillows
Magnetic therapy is an alternative medical treatment for everything from sinus problems to muscle tension to insomnia. According to the Council for Magnetic Therapy, there have been more than 300 international studies pertaining to the use of magnetics in treating and curing ailments. One way to use magnetic therapy to treat sleeplessness, sinus difficulties and neck problems is to sleep on a magnetic pillow. You can buy pillows manufactured with the magnets already in them, or you can insert pads containing magnets into your own pillowcases along with standard pillows. In either case, the procedure for using them is the same.

1
Place the magnetic pillow on the bed where you normally use your pillow. If you are using the magnetic pad, insert it into the pillowcase along with your regular pillow.
-
2
Sleep on the magnetic pillow or regular pillow with magnetic pad insert in the same way that you would use a regular pillow. Get enough undisturbed sleep to ensure that your problems are not caused by a lack of regular rest.

Use the magnetic pillow every night. The concept is that the magnetic field produced by the magnetic pillow or magnetic pad aids in resetting the body's natural circadian rhythm, or body clock. Gaps in the usage of the magnetic pillow or pad could allow the body clock to become out of sync again.

Tips & Warnings
In addition to using magnetic pillowcases or pad inserts, make sure your sleeping quarters are as quiet and relaxing as possible. All-cotton sheets, sufficiently warm blankets, a darkened room and 6 to 8 hours of uninterrupted silence all contribute to a restful night's sleep.
"Memory foam" pillows and mattress tops incorporating magnets also are available and may provide more comfort during sleep.
Be sure to use strong enough magnets in any magnetic therapy treatment. Some studies suggest that magnetic bracelets and other magnetic jewelry designed to alleviate arthritis and other conditions do not contain strong enough magnets to help the body heal.
It is best not to use magnetic pillows or other items if you have a pacemaker or if you are pregnant. Avoid magnetic therapy if you have a transdermal drug patch, and keep magnetic therapy products away from your credit cards, computers, USB drives or other magnetic media.
