How to Get Wireless Internet on an iPod Touch
With its multi-touch screen, Apple application capabilities and Wi-Fi capabilities, the iPod Touch is the most technologically advanced iPod on the market. To do any downloads on the iPod Touch while you are away from the computer you must be in a Wi-Fi network with your iPod Touch. From there you are free to download and browse the Internet at your leisure.

Choose "Settings" on the iPod Touch screen.

Select "Wi-Fi" and choose to turn the Wi-Fi on.

Go back to "Settings" and "Wi-Fi." The iPod Touch will automatically start trying to detect a Wi-Fi network you are in range of.

Select a network. Some networks are secure and require a password. Some networks may require fees. Once you are connected to a network, the blue Wi-Fi icon will appear at the top of your home screen.

Tips & Warnings
You can see the connection strength next to the Wi-Fi icon on the home screen. The more bars there are, the better the connection.
