Determine the furniture arrangement of the room. Move your couches and chairs to find a good viewing area. For a 42- to 43-inch LCD TV, give yourself at least 10 feet between you and the TV screen. For a 52-inch model, you will need about 13 feet, and for a 60-inch TV, you'll need at least 15 to 20 feet.

2
Determine the size of the space where your LCD TV will go. Whether you want to put it in an entertainment center or hang the TV on a wall, measure the space.

3
Determine the viewing angle of the television. Some sizes of LCD TVs work better than others when viewed from the side. This can be checked at the store before purchase.
