Reset a Sony Cyber-shot Camera

Save

The Sony Cyber-shot line consists of digital cameras that take still photos. Photos are stored on removable SD cards and the camera is powered by a rechargeable battery. If the camera is not functioning properly, a hard reset may correct the problem by restoring the camera settings and menu options to the factory settings.

  • Slide the power switch to the "off" position. If your model has a push-button power switch, push it once.

  • Push or slide the small battery compartment release latch so that the compartment door pops open. Slide the battery out of the compartment.

  • Slide the power button to the "on" position for 15 seconds. For push-button models, hold down the power button for 15 seconds.

  • Slide the power switch to the "off" position or let go of the power button.

  • Insert the battery and close the compartment door. Turn the camera back on.
