How to Make a Simple Lemon Herbal Hair Rinse

Do you want to make your hair look soft and shiny as well as enhance your natural color? You may have heard that apple cider vinegar makes a great rinse. While that's certainly true, most people use that and leave lemon untouched. In my opinion, lemon is just as wonderful, especially if you have light hair. Here is a basic lemon hair rinse recipe that will leave your hair smelling and looking wonderful. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 cups hot water
  • 2 tbsp. dried herb of choice (choose from rosemary, parsley, chamomile or rose) or fresh herbs (optional)
  • Juice of one lemon

Instructions

      Pour hot water over the dried herb in a glass container or mug. Cover and let steep for 10 to 15 minutes.

      Strain out the herb and let cool to room temperature. This should take another 10 or 15 minutes or so.

      Add juice of one lemon and stir until well combined.

      Shampoo and condition your hair as usual. Pour rinse over your head and massage into the scalp. Don't rinse. Dry and style your hair as usual.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use lemon juice concentrate if you don't have fresh lemons handy; just use 2 tbsp. of the concentrate.

  • If you decide to use fresh herbs, use 4 tbsp. and chop it slightly before adding the water.
