How to Create a Deep Sea Blue Smokey Cat Eye
The typical cat eye shows up on many trendy faces. A blue cat eye, however, serves as a unique twist on a classic look. You'll stand out from the crowd with deep blue eyes reminiscent of the ocean. This look layers blue hues on the eyelid framed by thick flirtatious eyelashes. Any skin tone can wear this look, as well as any hair or eye color. Bold or muted clothing choices work equally well for this make-up, but matching blue clothing with this eye may appear overzealous. Wearing the hair up to show off the face will flatter this look best. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Pat eye primer onto the eyelid using your fingers. Eye primer is a cream or gel that prevents the creasing of eyeshadow during wear.
-
2
Apply a metallic navy cream eyeshadow with a shadow brush in a diagonal line on the eyelid. Start from just above the lashes on the inner corner of the upper lash line and extend upward (diagonally) toward the outer crease. Do not worry if this looks strange--it will be blended.

3
Use the same shadow brush to apply a shimmering royal-blue eyeshadow over the entire eyelid covering even the metallic navy shadow.
-
4
Apply a teal eyeliner to your water line. Your water line looks fleshy and pink and lies just above your lower lash line. Applying eyeliner in this area may feel uncomfortable at first. If you prefer, you can apply liner to your lower lash line instead.
-
5
Use a pearlized white soft eyeliner pencil to highlight the area just under your eyebrows. Swipe the pencil across the area under the arch of your eyebrows and then use your finger to smudge it.
-
6
Finish this look with a bronze-black mascara. The bronze coloring softens this look so that the blue doesn't look garish when set against the teal eyeliner. Apply the mascara to the upper lashes only. Wiggle the lash comb as you sweep through the lashes to prevent clumping.
