How to Disable Download Accelerator on Vista

Download Accelerator is a browser add-on developed by SpeedBit. According to SpeedBit, it increases download speed when uploading files from the Internet. Download Accelerator is compatible with Windows Vista; however, you can temporarily disable it if you are not currently using it. You can also uninstall it from your computer completely and free up system resources if you no longer want it.

1. Right-click the "Download Accelerator" icon on the system tray and click "Accelerator Off" to disable Download Accelerator.

2. Alternatively, launch your Internet browser and click the "Tools" menu. Select "Options." Select the "General" tab and uncheck the "Show Regular/Accelerated" option to disable Download Accelerator.

3. Uninstall Download Accelerator if you want to remove it completely. To do so, click the Windows "Start" menu and click the "Control Panel." Click "Programs" and then click "Program and Features."

4. Scroll through the list of installed programs and click "Download Accelerator." Click "Uninstall" and click "Yes" to confirm and remove the application from your computer.
