How to Remove the Zone Alarm Tool Bar

The ZoneAlarm Spy Blocker Toolbar blocks spyware from accessing a computer. Used in Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox browsers, it warns an Internet user of a spyware access attempt that the toolbar blocked or that the user is about to access a site with spyware. Although the toolbar provides a useful and necessary defense against spyware, many such toolbars exist—allowing Internet users to choose a toolbar based on personal spyware protection and Internet search preferences.

  • Open your Internet browser.

  • Click on the "ZONEALARM SPY BLOCKER" logo on the left side of the toolbar at the top of the browser or the down-pointing arrow beside the logo to access the toolbar menu. On the menu, select the uninstall option and follow the instructions provided on your version of the toolbar to remove. After the software uninstalls, close your browser, if necessary, and restart your computer to update the change.

  • Go to your computer’s “Control Panel” if the toolbar uninstall tool doesn't work, you have browser or connectivity issues, or you want to make sure that it was completely removed from your computer. Click the "Start" button (in XP) or the "Start" logo (in Vista) and click on "Control Panel."

  • Select "Add or Remove Programs" (in XP) or "Programs" and then "Programs and Features" (in Vista) to open the computer programs list.

  • Look for “ZA Spy Blocker,” “ZoneAlarm” or “Ask Toolbar” on the list. Click the program and then click "Change/Remove" (in XP) or "Uninstall/Change" (in Vista). Click "OK" to confirm that you want to uninstall the software.

  • Restart your computer to update the changes.
