How to Check Firmware Version on a Dell Server

If you are working with a Dell server, you need to have complete information about that important piece of hardware. One critical piece of information you will need is the firmware version the server is running. Updating the firmware can be a useful way to solve problems and increase security but, before you can update the firmware, you will first need to check your current firmware version.

Things You'll Need

• Server
• Array manager

Instructions

1. Click Start > Programs > Dell Open Manage Applications > Array Manager > Array Manager Console.

2. Click Arrays > Physical Array. Right-click "Controller 0."

3. Choose "SES Firmware" from the drop-down menu. Check the firmware version that is listed there.
