How to Throw a Baby Sprinkle

Celebrate!

Many of us are familiar with the popular baby shower, but have you heard of the baby sprinkle? Sprinkles are often used for a woman expecting her second, third, etc. child. She may have most of the gear she needs for the baby, but that does not mean the event is not worth celebrating! The sprinkle provides an opportunity for friends and family to gather to celebrate the upcoming arrival. Food, drinks, a cake, gifts - a lovely event sure to be remembered fondly! And usually a big surprise, which is a really nice bonus.

Things You'll Need

• A friend who is expecting
• A cake
• A present
• A location for the party

Instructions

1. 

   Decide what type of event you want - coed with children, or perhaps just the girls.

2. 

   Decide on the location - your house, a local playground/park, a restaurant.

3. 

   Send out invitations.

4. 

   Decide on drinks, food, a cake, decorations, perhaps a game or two. Delegate.

5. 

   Figure out a surprise way to get the guest of honor there. Perhaps you are meeting for lunch, getting together for a playdate, etc.

6. 

   Have a blast!

Tips & Warnings

• It can be really fun to plan a sprinkle with your play group, if you have one. Everyone can chip in for a big gift, someone can get the cake, someone can get the card, etc.

• A gift card as a gift can be really nice. If a bunch of friends go in on it together, you can give a nice amount, and then the expecting mom can get what she needs/wants.

• A coed party with kids can be really nice, so that the expecting mom's husband and child/children can be there, too.
