Instructions

    • 1

Insert the USB Bluetooth adapter into an available USB port on the HP computer. A prompt will pop up saying new hardware is detected. Windows will either search automatically for the necessary drivers or ask you if it can access your Internet connection to do so. Allow Windows to perform this action.

    • 2

Verify that the Bluetooth drivers have installed correctly. If the Bluetooth is operational, you will see the blue and white Bluetooth logo in the system tray. Right-clicking it will bring up the options to pair your Bluetooth adapter to another device. If it does not install or is not operational, navigate to the Widcomm Software download page in your web browser (see link in Resources below).

    • 3

Click the "Download Now" button and accept the user agreement that pops up. If it doesn't show up, make sure you enable pop-ups in your web browser for this specific website. Save the download to your computer and run the installation file.

    • 4

Click "Accept" and the software will detect and validate your Bluetooth device. It will then download and install the necessary drivers. Upon completion, the blue and white Bluetooth logo icon will be available in the system stray.

    • 5

Test by attempting to pair it with another Bluetooth device. You can do so by right-clicking the icon and choosing the "Connect to New Device" option.

Tips & Warnings

  • Before installing new software, create a System Restore point in Windows and back up your data.

  • Refer to your Bluetooth adapter's instruction manual for installation instructions.
