How to Fix the Brake Noise From New Brakes on a Buick Rendezvous

Brake noise--typically high-pitched squeaking--is very common when new brakes have been installed, whether on a Buick Rendezvous or any other vehicle. It's most likely caused by new parts seating themselves and working against each other for the first time. Quieting the noise can be simple and inexpensive if you follow these steps; manufactured solutions are also available in auto-parts stores.

Things You'll Need

• Zinc oxide mixture
• Applicator brush

Instructions

1. Identify which tires have breaks--whether your car has front-wheel drive, back-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. You can see the brake discs through the openings on the wheel or rim, although in some cases, you might have to remove the wheel to access the brake disc.

2. Use the brush to apply a coat of zinc oxide to the mechanical parts surrounding the disc brake. No parts need to be removed, and nothing will be harmed by the zinc oxide, so apply it liberally to the area around the disc brake.

3. Repeat step 2 for the other brake disc; if your vehicle has four-wheel drive, also repeat step 2 with the other set of brakes.
