Create personal digital calendars with Microsoft Outlook.

Outlook 2007 is part of the Microsoft Office software suite that helps users manage email, calendar events and to-do items. Calendar entries made using Outlook 2007 will be saved to the default calendar, and you can also create other calendars besides the default. Although you cannot delete the default Outlook 2007 calendar, you can delete other calendars from the Navigation Pane. If you want to remove all the information from the default calendar, you can also do that from the Navigation Pane.

Instructions

  1. Delete Additional Calendars

    • 1

Locate the calendar you want to delete in the Navigation Pane under "My Calendars." The Navigation Pane is at the left of the main Outlook window.

    • 2

Right-click on the name of the calendar in the Navigation Pane and select "Delete."

    • 3

Click "Yes" to confirm your decision when prompted. Since this process cannot be undone, be sure you have chosen the correct calendar before confirming your selection.

    Clear Default Calendar

    • 4

Click the "Calendar" entry in the Navigation Pane. The default calendar will be listed at the top, above other calendars you've created.

    • 5

Click the "View" menu, select "Current View" and click "By Category." Click "Categories: (none)" in the menu that appears and press "Ctrl-A."

    • 6

Press the "Delete" key and click "Yes" to confirm the selection when prompted.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you delete additional calendars or clear the default Outlook calendar, the results are permanent and cannot be undone. Microsoft recommends you back up your calendar data before carrying out these procedures.
