How to Fit a Men's Necklace

1. Measure the distance around the man's neck and note this measurement.

2. Add 2 inches to the neck measurement. This would be the smallest length that would fit this man's neck. A necklace this length would fit snugly around the base of the man's neck. The standard length of a man's necklace of this size is 18 inches.

3. Add 4 inches to the neck measurement for a necklace that will lay across the man's collarbone. This is the most popular length in men's necklaces and the standard length of this necklace is 20 inches.

4. Select a necklace that is 6 inches longer than the neck measurement. A necklace this length generally falls just below the man's collarbone. The standard length of this necklace is 22 inches.

5. Choose a necklace that is 8 inches longer than the neck measurement for a necklace that will fall to just above the man's sternum (breastbone). The standard length of this necklace is 24 inches.
