How to Use Foursquare
Foursquare is a location-based application that allows you to connect with your friends and tell them where you are in real time using your smartphone. The app also pushes you to explore more locations around you by telling you what's nearby and who might be there.

Install foursquare on your smartphone or iPhone if you haven't already done so (foursquare.com).

Start checking in and earning badges. Foursquare has an addictive quality in that it allows you to earn various achievement badges just for checking in to the locations you visit. You can earn badges for eating in a new restaurant or for checking in to a place where no one else has checked in before.

Become a mayor in Foursquare. If you continue to check in and you do it more than anyone else in a particular location, then you will be declared the mayor of that location. So if you want the prestige of becoming the mayor of your local Starbucks, for example, check in on Foursquare each and every time you go to that Starbucks. Others can see your status as mayor when they check in to the location, and you can make new friends by connecting with those who share your favorite coffee shop.

Tips & Warnings
Sign up and connect with your friends on other social networks, such as Facebook and Twitter. This will allow you to see how many of your friends are already using Foursquare and enable you to invite the ones that haven't yet discovered it.
