How to Insert a Flash Movie Into Powerpoint

Instructions

      Create a PowerPoint presentation and navigate to the page you intend to place the Flash movie.

      Move the Flash movie to the same directory that you save your PowerPoint presentation.

      Open the "Controls Toolbox," accessible through the "Toolbars" menu Contained in the "View" menu. Click on the 'more controls' button which looks like a hammer crossed with a wrench, and choose the 'Shockwave Flash Object' option under the drop down menu.

      Use the mouse in the PowerPoint slide display to draw a container to place your Flash movie into, dragging your mouse to set the size and shape of the container.

      Right click on the container box and choose "Properties" in the open menu. That will will open the Properties box. Choose 'Custom' and then press the build button, labeled as '...' which will open the Property Pages dialog box.

      Place the file location of the Flash movie into the "Property Pages" dialog box in the "Movie URL" input box. Check the "Embed Movie" box and then choose the properties of the Flash movie such as movie quality, and scale of the embedded movie. Click the "OK" button to close the Property Pages box, and embed the movie into the slide at the container location.

      Save the PowerPoint presentation using the "File" menu and then test the presentation by running through the complete slide show, beginning the slide show by selecting the menu "Slide Show" and choosing the "View Show" option, or playing only the slide with the embedded movie in it by pressing "Shift" and "F5" simultaneously.
