How to Connect the Jabra EHS Adapter to a Polycom Phone
The Jabra EHS (Electronic Hook Switch) adapter allows the use of certain Jabra wireless headset models such as Jabra GO 6430/6470, PRO 9470, GN9120 EHS/DUO EHS, GN3300e, GN9350/GN9350e and GN9120 EHS/GN9125 EHS series with certain types of Polycom phones that would not otherwise work with Jabra wireless headsets such as SoundPoint IP 320/330, 430, 550, 560, 650 and 670 phones or VVX 1500 series. Connecting an EHS adapter isn't difficult, as the adapter is a "plug-and-play" solution. Once connected, it takes only a few quick phone and headset base configurations to take calls from up to 350 feet away, depending on your model of headset.

1
Access your Polycom phone menu and change the headset settings to "Jabra Mode" or "Jabra DHSG" based on the manufacturer's instructions for your specific model. Depending on your phone model, you may need to complete this step after connecting the EHS adapter. Typically, changing the settings requires that you access the "Basic," "Preferences," and "Headset" sections in the menu on your phone. Once "Analog Headset Mode" appears on the screen, use the up and down arrows to select the Jabra Mode and then choose "Back," "Exit" or "Menu" to return to the main screen.
-
2
Remove the protective cover from the 6-pin Jabra EHS adapter cable end and align the end with the 6-pin port on the back or bottom of your Polycom phone.
-
-
3
Push the end gently into the port until secure.
-
4
Plug the other cable end into the AUX port on your Jabra wireless headset base.
-
5
Select your headset type and "DHSG mode" on the Jabra wireless headset base. As the instructions vary by headset base and headset model, refer to your headset user manual. Typically, the instructions advise to select the icon on the base's LCD that has the name of your headset and then use the arrows to highlight and select the DHSG mode. Set the dial tone and/or reboot the headset base afterward if needed.

Tips & Warnings
Polycom 320/330 SoundPoint IP phones require the use of a 2.5mm to RJ-9 adapter to use a Jabra wireless headset. In addition, the EHS adapter doesn't work with any system running a SIP application lower than 3.0 or BootRom lower than 4.1.0. Always carefully align the EHS adapter pins when plugging in the cables as the pins can bend or break off completely if not aligned correctly.
